Rewrite sentence with the word in brackets, keeping the same meaning. The first part has been written for you.
All forms of life need water for existence.
Water is__________________________________.
1) 我觉得会用到有关vital的短语即: be vital to 和be vital for. 我查到的资料是 be vital to refers to something indispensable while be vital for implies that the subject is very important.

All forms of life need water for existence. =
Water is vital to/for the existence of all forms of life.
2. keeping the same meaning:这句话不适合,keeping the same meaning 的意思是? 应改为:without changing the meaning。
Rewrite the sentence with the word in brackets, without changing the meaning.

Water and food are vital to/for life.
Your help is vital to/for my success.
